  • Dr Andrew Greinke has over 25 years trial and appellate experience in construction disputes, regularly appearing unled against Kings/Senior Counsel in Supreme Court and Federal Court matters, and leading juniors in trials and appeals. 

    He has a national practice across all Australian jurisdictions, experienced in complex trials and appeals and appears on specialist building lists including the Technology and Construction List in the NSW Supreme Court. His practice includes judicial and merits review of administrative decisions such as rectification orders and licence cancellation.

    Andrew is a preeminent junior barrister for disputes arising under construction industry Security of Payment legislation. This is a field where the law is constantly evolving. Cases in which he had appeared in Queensland, New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory have set and continue to set influential appellate precedents.

  • Andrew has argued more than 50 appeals in the Federal Court of Australia and Courts of Appeal in Queensland, NSW and the ACT, as well as 24 matters in the High Court of Australia, including appearing in a Full Court appeal. He has lectured on appeals to the Queensland Bar Practice Course and participated in the Australian Bar Association’s 5th Appellate Advocacy Workshop.

    Andrew has well-honed cross-examination skills, particularly cross-examination challenging credit of lay and expert witnesses.

    • 85 Princess Pty Ltd v Fleming [2025] NSWSC 713 – [2025] NSWSC 713 – impeached engineering expert witness in a $5.6 million building defects claim

    • Girchow Enterprises v Ultimate Franchising Group Pty Ltd [2023] FCA 420 – misleading representations by franchisor, $5.8 million compensation order

    • Shah v Hagemrad [2018] FCA 91; [2018] FCAFC 148
      - fraudulent resentations by seller of Subway franchise

    • Sarker Trading Pty Ltd v Vanege Pty Ltd[2016] NSWDC 25 - misleading representations by seller of Subway franchise

    He is well versed in experts from diverse engineering and building disciplines including: concrete technology, construction, earthworks, engineering, elevator design, quantity surveying, secant walls, and town planning.  Experienced in “hot tub” cross-examination of multiple experts.
